1 cup dried chickpeas, soaked overnight and drained 2 tablespoons vegetable oil 1 onion, finely diced 3 garlic cloves, minced 1 tablespoon grated ginger 3 fresh green chilies, slit lengthwise 2 medium tomatoes, finely chopped 1 teaspoon cumin powder 2 teaspoons coriander powder 1 teaspoon turmeric powder 1 teaspoon garam masala 1 teaspoon salt 1/4 cup chopped cilantro leaves
